Welcome from the Chief
“On behalf of the police officers and telecommunicators of the Beech Mountain Police Department, I would like to welcome you to our website. This website is one of the many ongoing steps we are taking to demonstrate our department’s commitment, dedication, and professionalism to the community we serve. We wanted a place where citizens could learn more about the services offered by this agency, but more importantly, a place to improve the communication between the Beech Mountain Police Department and the citizens we serve.”
“We strongly believe that only through active communication and building strong partnerships within all areas of our community, can we maintain Beech Mountain as a great place to live, work, and play.”
News and Information
Notice of Limited Parking
Parking spaces and parking areas within the Town of Beech Mountain are limited due to the mountainous terrain. Availability of parking has been a recurring issue throughout the Town for many years. Due to our area parking limitations, we ask that all visitors be patient, park legally and act courteously to property owners, and use good judgement while visiting.
While visitors are always welcome to enjoy the amenities of the Town and High Country, parking a vehicle in the travel lane of a road will result in having the vehicle cited and/or towed. Parking a vehicle on private property may also result with the vehicle being towed and possible ‘Trespassing’ charges sought by a property owner. The influx of visitors will continue to be welcomed within our beautiful Town, but the Police Department cautions drivers to legally park vehicles.
Fillable 911 Form
Dear Beech Mountain Homeowners,
As many of you know, the Town of Beech Mountain operates an enhanced Emergency 911 system. When the system was initially set up, we collected data from property owners and have since been updating that information when it was volunteered, when new phones were installed or when property was transferred. By having up-to-date information in our computer systems, emergency responders can more effectively and efficiently help you in case of an emergency.
Be assured that all information you supply will be held in the strictest confidence. Thank you for helping us continue to help you.
Animal Control Ordinance
The Beech Mountain Police Department would like to encourage anyone with a dog over 4 months old to register their dog with the Beech Mountain Police Department. The cost is $1.00. You will relieve a metal tag with an identification number that attaches to your pets collar. The Police Department then records that number along with owner information. If your pet should get lost or injured we will have a way of contacting you. See Beech Mtn. code of ordinances. 92.19 COLLAR AND IDENTIFICATION.
Code Red
The Town of Beech Mountain is encouraging citizens to register for CodeRED. CodeRED is a telephone communication service that allows us to quickly notify citizens about emergency situations via telephone, cell phone, text message and/or email notifications. The system is capable of sending messages only to specific neighborhoods or the entire community. All citizens and business are encouraged to register.
